Burmese military’s helicopter was shot down by KIA 3rd brigade forces on 4 January 2012 in KIA control area. According to report, Burmese army use the Russian made helicopter to drop the boms in KIA control areas and many Kachin villages as well as use for transport for arms and food supplies. According battle frontline eyes witness, the pilot was died due crash landing in the paddy field near Sinlum Bum village in N-Mawk Town and Helicopter was severely damaged. The Helicopter was under fired from KIA troops while unloading supplies at Burmese army base near Mu Bum, Kachin State. Eye witness reported that helicopter was shot by KIA 3rd Brigade Machine gun. The Helicopter was crash down several miles away from Mu Bum Burmese army base while the pilot tries to return to its base in Manmaw (Bhamo). The crashed Helicopter parts were found by the local village on the next day according to eyes witness reported.
